During the summer, people tend to slack with their workouts because of so much going on between parties, vacations, events, the kids being out of school, etc. But that still isn't any kind of excuse for why you can't get in a quick 20 to 25 minute workout! Tabatas are one of my favorite, anywhere, anytime type of workouts that BLAST calories and keep on scorching calories for hours after your done thanks to something called EPOC. Did you know that a short 20 to 25 minute Tabata workout can burn MORE calories than walking on the treadmill for an hour? Plus, thanks to EPOC, your body will continue to burn calories at a higher rate after your Tabata workout vs. with steady-state cardio, your body will return to it's normal calorie burning state immediately once you've completed your workout. As you can see, the smart choice is Tabata! I've been having my clients do the Anywhere, Anytime workout this week and they are LOVING it!
