Writer: Dawn ThelenDawn Thelen

We all need an energy-packed healthy snack option, especially before/during/after a workout, while out on the run, on a hike or bike or when we are craving something salty and sweet! These protein balls do just the trick and are quick and easy to make! Just a warning, these will be a new family fav, so make sure to hide a batch for yourself!

FRUITY CHOCOLATE PROTEIN ENERGY BALLS

Makes ~17 servings depending on your scoop.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked rolled oats

  • 2 scoops protein powder (I used Firicano vanilla whey)

  • 1/2 cup freeze-dried fruit (in this recipe, I used Trader Joes berry mix)

  • 3/4 cup all-natural nut butter (almond, cashew, peanut)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/3 cup raw honey

  • 1/3 cacao or chocolate chips (I used Enjoy Life dairy-free mini chips)

Instructions

Combine all ingredients very well, you may even throw on some latex gloves and smoosh it together with your hands to really get it mixed together!

Scoop out and form 1" protein balls and place on parchment paper.

Freeze for up to 6 months or in the fridge for 2 weeks! Enjoy!
