Healthy Lasagna You Can Fool Your Family With!

One of the first recipes I ever made for my husband (at the time, boyfriend) was my famous healthy lasagna! As we all know if there is one thing you NEVER do is tell someone that something is “healthy” BEFORE they have a chance to try it… otherwise they will automatically think it’s going to taste horrible. So you can only imagine my sense of satisfaction when Mr. Bachelor tried my lasagna for the first time and went back for seconds... AND thirds!

What I love about this recipe is that it’s SO simple, only 5 ingredients and it’s something you don’t have to wait to have for a “special treat” because it's packed with healthy carbs and protein and won't leave you feeling like you've derailed from your program! As an added bonus, it’s something your friends and family will love, it tastes even better the next day and it's great for meal prep!


Makes 8 Servings. Calories per serving: 280; Protein 30.5; Carbs 31g; Fat 7.5; Fiber 4.2


  • 9 Uncooked Whole-Grain Lasagna Noodles

  • 1 Jar of Marinara

  • 1 package of Jenni-O Extra Lean Ground Turkey

  • 1 Packaged of Reduced Fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

  • 1 Cup of Low-Fat Cottage Cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Boil water for the lasagna noodles; once the water comes to a boil, add in the noodles and cook for 7 to 9 minutes.

  3. While cooking the lasagna noodles, brown the ground turkey.

  4. Prepare lasagna dish by coating the bottom of the pan with a light layer of marinara.

  5. Once the turkey is cooked, mix in cottage cheese and set aside.

  6. Place three cooked lasagna noodles into the dish and top with turkey/cottage cheese mixture, marinara and shredded cheese. Repeat this process two more times.

  7. Once the lasagna is assembled, cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, remove the foil and cook an additional 5 minutes or until cheese starts to bubble. Let sit for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

Step 4: Baked, covered at 350 degrees for 45 min.
